Fifth-grade gifted support students at Willow Dale recently collaborated on a real-world service learning project. After developing a persuasive presentation about the benefits of a classroom pet, the students successfully convinced Principal Gill to approve a Willow Dale pet.
Principal Gill then challenged the group to organize a fundraiser to cover the cost of the pet and necessary supplies. After careful research and thoughtful deliberation, the students decided to hold a popcorn fundraiser.
Throughout the process, students worked collaboratively to create both paper and digital flyers, monitor sales, manage inventory, organize orders, and distribute popcorn to students.
Thank you to the Willow Dale community for supporting this student endeavour. The 115 bags of popcorn ordered helped make this project a success!
Stay tuned for the exciting announcement of the Willow Dale pet!

Today, Attorney General Dave Sunday launched a series of planned teenTALK events by meeting with Bucks County students at William Tennent High School to discuss the impact of social media on mental health.
During today’s meeting, the students discussed their own use of social media, including its pros and cons. Many students shared thoughts on the addictive nature of social media and how spending excessive time on apps can affect relationships and hinder learning.

They were awarded a special table set up, lunch served, and a HUGE Silver Spoon to be held in the class for the month of February.

Thank you to the Bucks IU FabLab for visiting McDonald Elementary and Willow Dale Elementary this week! They demonstrated the significance of technology and the ecosystem to our students. Students at both schools have been learning about our ecosystem, and thanks to the FabLab, they were able to create their own ecosystems using 3D printing. This hands-on experience allowed them to observe the ecosystem’s structure and functionality. Additionally, students had the opportunity to program robots and witness their efficiency and capabilities!

Meet two of our amazing school counselors here at Centennial School District! Kara LaRose and Karen Richards both entered this role to help students navigate their important years of school and growing up. Their goal extends beyond simply guiding students academically; they strive to create a supportive and understanding environment where young people feel seen and encouraged while they navigate the challenges of growing up. Thank you to all our school counselors for all the support they provide to our students and families! #nationalschoolcounselingweek
