Student Engineers Design Roller Coaster Costumes

Willow Dale Elementary School fifth-grade gifted support students brought creativity and engineering to life by designing and constructing Halloween costumes for their fifth-grade teachers!

Students worked collaboratively through the engineering design process to create roller coaster costumes. They began by designing and building prototypes using 5" x 8" cards to construct models for 10-inch action figures. After selecting their final design, students worked together to scale their models to life-size to fit their teachers.

Through creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance, students transformed their initial ideas into unique, wearable creations! This hands-on project gave students an exciting opportunity to apply engineering concepts in an authentic, meaningful way while celebrating the Halloween season.

We are proud of these students and their creativity, collaboration, and hard work! What a fun way to showcase the innovation and talent of our Willow Dale learners!
