Early this week, students in Centennial School District's SPIRIT program soft-launched their own ShopRite! This exciting venture is a smaller-scale version of the supermarket, giving CSD employees the chance to stop in and purchase everyday items right on-site.
Thanks to the original connection made by the late Joseph Cowhey, SPIRIT students have had the opportunity to operate the ShopRite store at William Tennent High School before the regular bell schedule begins. Now, with SPIRIT at the Administration Building, our students can operate the store for longer shifts and more frequently throughout the day.
Students are gaining valuable real-world experience while serving Administration Building staff, SPIRIT staff, students, and visitors attending professional development and training. Each shift gives students opportunities to practice customer service, communication, teamwork, responsibility, and other important workplace skills.
